TRUCK MODE

Truck Stops, Fuel, Parking, and Route Planning

How Truck Mode finds truck stops, diesel, overnight parking and showers along a route, and how fuel cost is calculated for a commercial trip.

BREADCRUMB
ARTICLE

Overview

Parking is the hardest part of a long day. Truck Mode plans stops as part of the route rather than leaving them to a search at the end of a driving shift.

Stops placed by the clock

The 30-minute break and overnight shutdown are placed at real truck stops located on the route at the point the hours-of-service clock requires them.

Service categories

Truck stops, diesel, parking, showers, scales, weigh stations, repair, tire service and rest areas are available as live search categories along the corridor.

Fuel cost math

Gallons are derived from route miles and your profile's miles-per-gallon, then converted to trip cost and cost per mile. Where a live retail diesel price feed is not connected, the price basis is shown as an input you control rather than a claimed market rate.

Refuel points

Refuel points are suggested from tank range and route distance so a trip does not depend on finding fuel opportunistically.

QUESTIONS

Direct answers

Does MFAH Navigator show live diesel prices?

Only when a retail price provider is connected. Otherwise fuel cost is calculated from a price you enter, and the feature is labelled accordingly.

Can I find overnight parking in advance?

Yes. Parking is a route search category and the overnight stop is placed as part of the trip timeline.
